Race Star revealed a series of new wheels and key 2019 partnerships at their recent PRI Show press conference. Below is a recap of Race Star’s new products and key partnerships:
Pro-Forged Wheels
The Pro-Forged wheel series is lightweight, featuring a one-piece configuration through fusion welding technology. “We’ve made a large investment into the research and design of the Pro-Forged wheel,” said L.B. Davis, owner of Race Star. “Over the past two years, we’ve meticulously ensured that our manufacturing processes provide a top-notch wheel that is safe and provides ultimate performance for racers.”
NHRA champion driver Jason Line was the first to debut and compete on Race Star’s 16”x16” Double Bead Lock Pro-Forged Pro-Stock/Sportsman and 15”x3.5” Front Runner set-up this year. Line drove his way into the winner’s circle late season, providing validation for the performance capability of the Pro-Forged wheel design.
The 16”x16” Pro-Forged Liner Wheel is another significant offering in Race Star’s new line-up. It is the only lightweight, one-piece configuration wheel available in the U.S. market for Pro Mods. “The Liner Wheel is up to twenty-percent lighter than other available wheels in its class and provides racers with a weight advantage,” said Davis.
The 15” Pro-Forged wheel series is the only small tire line in the U.S. that features a one-piece, forged configuration. The wheels are 15.1 SFI tested and are offered in 15×10, 15×12, 15×14 and 15×15. Depending on size, non-bead lock, single bead lock and double bead lock options are available.
The entire Pro-Forged wheel series is priced to be affordable with emphasis on being readily available for delivery to customers starting at the beginning of 2019.

RSF-1 Forged Wheels
First introduced at the beginning of this year with a limited size offering in 15×10 and 17×4.5, new sizes are being released in this line: 17×10, 17×10.5 and 17×11 for late model muscle cars including Camaros, Challengers, Chargers and Mustangs. The wheels are offered in non-bead lock and single bead lock configuration.
A spin-off of the Pro-Forged line, the RSF-1 Forged wheels are a one-piece configuration and are rated for both street and strip use. This line is also J-2530 DOT tested. These wheels will be available starting Spring 2019.
92 Drag Star – 20×6 Front Runner
A new 20×6 front runner in the top-selling 92 Drag Star line for street and strip performance was designed to outfit the new ZL1’s, GT350’s and Hellcats. “We aim to be ahead of the curve in developing both new wheels and sizes. We are the only ones to offer this front runner size in the current market,” said Davis. These wheels will be available staring Spring 2019.
Bronze Finish
A new bronze finish is available in Race Star’s most popular wheel lines: 92 Drag Star, 95 Recluse and 32 Mirage. “The bronze color has increased in popularity these last couple of years and we felt that Race Star needed to offer this finish in a few of our lines,” said Davis.
The bronze wheels will be available in Spring 2019.
Key 2019 Partnerships
Race Star announced a partnership with KB Racing’s Jason Line and Greg Anderson. Line will continue to run the Pro-Forged set-up that he started in September while Anderson will race with the wheels for the first time at NHRA’s Winternationals. Other racers within KB Racing’s program are also expected to run the Pro-Forged set-up.
Race Star will continue their sponsorship of “Dominator” Joe Woods of Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws. Woods will be running the Pro-Forged 16”x16” and 15”x3.5” wheel set-up.
Race Star announced a new NHRA Contingency Sponsorship with details to come on contingency classes. Race Star is now the official wheel of the PDRA. For the first time, Race Star will be present at the manufacturer’s midway at PDRA events. Race Star will also continue to be a sponsor of the NMRA.
